Not what most people would have had in mind when they imagined the two Mitchells in tandem on the first morning of a Test.

Only 10 overs in the first hour?

Well, most of the time has been taken by Aussie batsmen walking to and from the pavilion...
They've made it to drinks, that looked doubtful for a while. Still say we don't want to be batting before lunch.

Hmmm - 7 wickets - what do you reckon the stoppages are on that amount?
Re: England v Australia, 4th Test, Trent Bridge, 06-10 August 2015
It doesn't look like the pitch is a minefield. The bowling's been good and the batsmen haven't been up to it. Athers made the point that three of the top five were out bringing the bat across them trying to play to mid on. I have to say, I'm loving it, although not quite as much as Beefy is by the sounds of it.

Most of it has just been poor technique. Gosh 47.

Broad is a seven eleven.

It's definitely the bounce off a good length that is doing the damage.
Hope we learn from that and manage to find a way to combat it.

Head in wrong position, playing down the wrong line, not waiting for the ball to come to them; pushing too hard!

70th anniversary of Hiroshima; a different sort of carnage here.

Surely Australia have to try and bat the full 20 out.

Alan Partridge (or Richard Madeley) would be proud of that one...Red wrote:70th anniversary of Hiroshima; a different sort of carnage here.

This is now the longest partnership in the innings by balls faced.

Finn's first over looked good for rhythm and pace. Yet he seems to be getting more ragged and wayward the more he bowls.

Still scoring at more than 3 runs/over, so not exactly hanging about - in more ways than one

Aye if they hadn't kept the scoreboard moving they could have been in real shit.
