I wonder if the inclusion of the pink ball, hooping around at dusk will counteract the presumably placid pitch.
Without the pink ball I could only imagine what a par score on Adelaide would be if 600 is the norm at the Waca.

Yes, I hope Siddle gets his chance.
Johnson definitely needs a rest.

Midge will retire after Perth.
Siddle in. They might keep Haze.
Ferguson to bat at 5.

Ferguson has zero substance as a batsman. Good for a flashy 30 but that's about it.

I'd go with this. Poor old Cot always gets to be the workhorse on the Autobahn.

Why Ferguson? Local knowledge, or you just trying to JGK Maddinson into the side?

They might be keen to get Sids into the team for an MCG swansong next month. I'm in no hurry to rush Patto back, the more cricket he plays for Vic before his next Test the better for his confidence. Also notice the Jackson Bird seems to be picking up wickets again. (What's the latest word on Cumming?)

Maddinson should be nowhere near a Test cap until he learns the difference between a 20 over match and a FC innings.

Re: Australia v New Zealand, 3rd Test, Adelaide, 27 Nov - 1 Dec, 2015
Interesting issue in the absence of UK. (Is Warner really crocked too??)
I suppose it depends how the selectors see it. Chance to blood a youngster, for the longer view? Fall back on someone who's had some experience at the top level, and hope he does a bit better this time? Or - given that Khawaja has (surely?) claimed the #3 spot for the time being, and will slip right back in after the 2 Test absence - go for a temporary measure (those 2 Tests only) of a highly reliable batsman who has been in good form for some time, ...and who at his career stage will presumably welcome any chance of the baggy green without demand or expectation of a permanent place?
I don't know the whole range of options well enough to express a definite view (even as far as a Pom's view has any weight anyway!).
But as may have been obvious from the way I phrased the predicament, Klinger has to look like a reasonable selection. He could also fit in at 3 or 5 (since full murmur is on again whether Smith and Voges should go up to 3&4, or remain at 4&5).

I am in the Peter Siddle fan club, for reasons well known, so I'll say no more.

I don't think Maddinson has the mind-set for Test cricket at this stage....but we all thought the same about Warner for most of 2011....and a month into 2012 he had two Test tons in five Tests, both on tracks where nobody else made a run. I wonder if they'd waited until Warner showed 'responsibility' for NSW before picking him (as I seem to recall voting for myself at the time), whether we'd all still be waiting. If they intend looking at Madders at all, they should play him early rather than late, just as long as his form at the time is good.

Clarification: Maddinson (or any other batsman) comes in only for Warner. The replacement for Quodge should be Klinger, and the experts can pontificate until THEY get bored over where he bats.

klinger in is fine but given steve smiths performance when in that spot he should stay there until khawaja comes back
siddle definitely. suppose the other replacement bowler has to be pattinson but im still not convinced about him

I was thinking that too , WW
I like Puddle but he's a long way from ready
You know Fork at least has the temperament for International success ...just a question of whether he can do it successfully at Test level

I was actually thinking of him as a bowling allrounder batting at #8. Fork's form with the bat lately has been a bit below his best. Although I was also thinking that failure with the bat in Adelaide might see Puddle out of the side for a while.
