Just seen the first 3 wickets to fall to leave the SAffers 5-12. Awful shots!!!

There's no doubt that it's a massive bunsen but the Yarps have batted like rabbits in the headlights. I saw Chef and KP get big tons on a wicket like this.

Jiminy finally succumbs. Bit stiffed to be gunned lbw a long way down. Might have hit him outside the line.

Lowest ever Test score against India!! The Ostrich pokes one back to Ashtray to give him 5.
SAf skittled for 79. Basically rolled in a single session.

Hard to comment on this without being accused of sour grapes but I can't see that this does any good for the future of test cricket, any more than the last wicket at Perth.

Agree with both. Pitch does need to be reported. Not even Bangladesh try to winkle such an advantage at home. South Africa's inability also quite shocking.skully wrote:JGK wrote:I dunno - call me old school but second day of a test should not be a time when only spinners get a bowl.

No. It is a farce because it is turning square on the first day and part-timers can look like worldbeaters. It does of course show that the batsmen aren't that flash when they're not playing on roads but they have to be given something which is realistic. If Morkel has to start looking like a spinner, something is clearly wrong. Guess India might see some grass when they next tour SA.

28+ wickets in 2 days is a complete and total disgrace, regardless of my previous comments.

SAffers have 3 days to get 310. Would be as funny as fark if they gave it a shake!!!
Opening the bowling with Harmer (1-84) seems a dopey move given Tahir's michelle. And to delay the leggie's introduction to the crease seems doubly perplexing.

SA's problem will probably be psychological as much as any tangible demons in the surface.
