Turns out he isn't.
Fixed.
Jack Hobbs Tests numbers 109 and 110?
Huh? Â Hobbs never scored a duck and ton in the same match.
He scored a duck in Capetown in Test number 109, and 187 in Capetown in Test number 110; consecutive Tests at the same ground.

Oh, did you mean both a duck and a century in the same match, in two successive matches that player played at the same ground?

Re: Trivia 2016
As in consecutive Tests. All Tests have a number, one comes before two, etc.

Looks good to me. Sir IVAR made tons (130 & 177) in Tests 774 and 775, both in P-o-S, both v India. Quirky.
Nice find, Mrbucket.

Only one man has witnessed more consecutive dismissals at the other end in a Test. Who?
Wasn't Dessie last man out twice in a match?
He was, thus witnessing 18 consecutive dismissals at the other end:
DL Haynes – 1st inns 55 (#2)/2nd inns 105 (#2) - WI (140 & 212) v NZ, Dunedin, 1979-80

Correct, JGK. Your reward is one half-sucked Faf mint found on the Hobart outfield.
Strange that they played two successive Tests in Trinidad on that 1976 tour.

Re: Trivia 2016
In the recently completed series in Zimbabwe, Bot skipper Graeme Cremer topscored in each innings of the 1st Test v Sri Lanka, batting at number 8. There have been 4 other instances of the #8 or lower topscoring for their side in both innings. Who?

Siddle got two 50s somewhere at number 8, I remember ... but probably not top-scoring!

Very good, Mr bucket!!!! Impressive recall. In fact, Cot did top score in both. He holds the record for the lowest order bat to top score in both innings.

#8 GJ Whittall 85 & 51 for Zim (192 & 212) v SAf, Bloemfontein, 1999-00
#9 PM Siddle 51 & 50 for Aus (262 & 164) v Ind, Delhi, 2012-13

Re: Trivia 2016
Again, clarification: were these "genuine" late-order batsmen (bowlers, maybe the odd undependable wickie), or does it include "genuine" batsmen strategically or through injury batting late in the order?
Though when I think of it, that very rarely occurs twice in a match, I think.

Re: Trivia 2016
One was a bowler who could bat a bit (averaged under 30 with the willow in Tests and FC), although he wasn't great with either bat or ball. The other was a wicketkeeper.

Re: Trivia 2016
Bertie Oldfield? Jack Blackham? Some of those guys could bat a bit down the order (on occasion - hence down the order).

Re: Trivia 2016
I can't think of a suitable nondescript bowler.
Nondescript being the problem. The Jack Gregorys and Davos and Richie, all occasionally handy with the old driver, were never nondescript.

This Aussie bowler was very non-descript. He was also ancient.
