Significant news, albeit off topic.

In response to the Zika virus, the Pope has relaxed opposition to use of contraception in countries affected by the Zika virus. He has however maintained Church opposition to abortion.

The position on contraception is however pretty amazing and is a seismic shift.

Hope the Pope takes care. The decision will enrage many in the Vatican. This guy is the first and prolly the last Jesuit to send the smoke up the chimney.

I see he gave some lowly Mexican the death stare for nearly dragging down during a walk amongst the masses yesty. He was not happy, Jan.

I see he's also had a dig at Trump for being unchristian in his views towards "immigrants". Trump was pissed off.

They've had a negro. They'll get a woman sooner or later, probably a hispanic in my lifetime (well mrsqmy's), a jew is definately a probability, maybe one day even a muslim.

Not in the States, where it is politically expedient to be a Christian (until a Musi moves into the White House).

Sanders is clearly an atheist, he's just dodged the question when it has come up. 

I mean Obama probably is in private but Sanders seems to have a bit of integrity, for a politician anyway and won't straight up lie about it although he's realistic enough to know he can't come out and say "I don't believe in God" if he wants the presidency and to implement the changes he wants.

Have to say I've been watching some of his speeches, he is a very inspirational character, but then so was Obama although the difference is that Sanders has spent his entire life campaigning for the middle classes whereas with Obama a lot of it was rhetoric.

Sanders has the history to back up his words, unfortunately though even in the miraculous case of him winning the presidency if the Republicans control congress then he won't get anything through.

Interesting. I confess I haven't been following it that closely, though a nephew I would never have picked as being interested in anything politics worships the guy and has been following it with a passion.

So if Sanders can do that.............
