Who knows Q may come good with the bat. We know he will get plenty of chances.

Re: Ben Hilfenhaus retires
I hope he does. You made a salient point a few days back about the way the selectors persevered with SRW and he repaid them in spades. maybe Puddle will do similarly.

Re: Ben Hilfenhaus retires
He certainly has the potential and there is only Reeks and Fork as competitors for the all rounder role.

FMD, have you become a vet?

Did anyone see the newsclip of Hilfy?. The big fella was just about in tears when he announced his retirement. He is still looking to play T20 though.

Re: Ben Hilfenhaus retires
He was a good old hoss, was 'Haus.
In his dependability and persistent effort charging in a bit like Siddle, only bit more of a gallop and less nagging.
And similarly to Saddle, sorry SIDDLE, not always as popular with the selectors as his honest stallion merits might have deserved.
Maybe they prefer the show ponies.
This is not a stir-up, honest.

Two fine bowlers getting lionised on this thread, fully justified IMO.

He has taken his retirement from tests with 99 wickets with a remarkable degree of equinimity, where many would have bridled.

Aye. But he could fetch up a bit of a gallop when the going was good.

One can only hope that that's the only reason for his prolonged absence.
