After a great career inc 99 test wickets, Hilfy is putting his feet up.

A highly skilled and honest bowler he made great contributions to Oz and Tasmanian cricket.

Shame about that last wicket but I guess he'll now live forever in sports trivia.

I was expecting this announcement. Great career from the Tossie Brickie.

Deserved to get to 100 wkts, but just wasn't to be.

Did well with limited opportunities ... he should have played more in England and been flogged less on Adelaide roads.

Am I right in thinking he never took part in an Ashes series? If so then one of the best Aussie bowlers not to.

Shame about not getting to 100, although he's in esteemed company with a stat of 99 on his CV.

Milf played all 5 Tests in Ashes 09 and 4 in Ashes 10-11 (both losing series). He took 29 wickets v England at 35.13 (v career ave of 28.50) with a best of 4-60.

He was a very good bowler, unlucky at times as well... I reckon if he was from another country, he would've played a lot of Tests

I forgot to add the word "winning" Ashes series, remember him bowling very well against us in England in 2009 but never in a winning cause (series wise). 

So few decent Aussie cricketers have never won the Ashes so he'd stand out I would think, particularly in more recent times (unlike every decent English player for 16 years so it's not so rare with us).

He also had to play with chronic failures like Bung, schoolgirl and flfleas.

On horrie's headstone will be the words "he hated SRW and Fleas with a passion".

Fleas always failed when it counted. His scores slowed .momentum and led to draws. Skully, I have previously challenged people to name tests where fleas contribution was crucial to the win. Nil response.

Dont confuse people ignoring the dribblings of a bitter old vomit qunt with conclusive proof that your challenge was successful

The reality is fleas was not a matchwinner....you always bigged him up...not me. At best he was an average player.

Further the choking incident showed he is a less than average person. Moreover his leadership or lack was intrinsic to the poor culture at the spivs.

Well yes.....silence is eloquent......both koalas were match winners - fleas was not. The spivs lured him on a promise. His failures as a player, skipper and human are clear. His bitterness is uber.

I like Quota as a bowling all rounder. In fact I support all the current team, tho the evidence suggests they are ftb types.
