Photobucket error message

Hello all

It seems Photobucket has instigated a image hotlink fee without announcing it:

"Photobucket, one of the internet’s most longstanding image repositories, recently shocked its users by quietly changing its terms of service without announcing that it would begin charging $400 per year to allow users to hotlink their images, preventing people from easily embedding the images they’ve uploaded to Photobucket on other websites. Though the term is nearly archaic now, in earlier internet times, when images were big and server load capacity was small, hotlinking was a big deal; Photobucket was among the crucial free web storage systems that allowed you to freely upload and share images wherever you liked."

$400 p.a. is out of this humble admin's reach. I will have to investigate other free image hosting sites, if there are any.

In the meantime, I'm sorry, but you'll have to tolerate the ugly Photobucket error message. Please be patient while I try to solve this issue.

Are all the flags attached to photobucket?

Okay it appears to be the team and flag on the individual profiles. If we can switch that off it will stop the posts becoming clogged up.

Please be patient. I will fix everything but it will take time. Individual images have to be uploaded to the new image hosting site, then the new hosting site image address transferred to Forum (backstage). There are many dozens of images, including flags, rankings, backgrounds and provinces.

It is slow and mundane work.

Kudos M Fromage.

I had a problem with photobucket a few months ago.

What a hide the company has. Suspect it has been sold and the new owners are scrapping for what bucks they can before junking. Would not mind finding the CEOs address so we could have a jolly good old chat.

So Photobucket decided to become a pack of qunts?? Pricks.

You can upload all the images in an album fwiw. The replacement of url to display may be a bit more irritating. Hire a slave for that.

It is very much slave's work. I am almost finished moving all the ranking images over to Imgur and copying the new URL's to Bails backstage, then it's the flags and sundry other items. Very time consuming.

It has been a long,slow process. Poor form by Photobucket.

I am still having trouble with Tasmania, Warwickshire and Worcestershire's icons. Apologies.
