NSP has had too much say in selections
vomits stuck early on a roady G
Spivs taking early advantage of having the Test bowling attack
wozzies battling injuries international call ups and peaheartedness
sozzies are sozzies
billies are billies
tozzies are all wicketkeepers ...so much so the oz keeper cant get a game for toz

Aye to the above. Spivs season has been one of two halves, good and bad.
Table:
Vic------32.11
Qld-----31.92
Tas-----31.44
NSW---30.79
WA------27.43
SA------26.26
Still, it's close at the top.
8 games in, with Qld and SA having a game in hand. Advantage Qld.

The Vix new home, the redeveloped Junction Oval, is launched tomorrow with the Spivs playing the good guys. Hope to get there on Sunday.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Maxy announces his impending retirement from all FC cricket.
Classy statement ...
http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/22621147/michael-klinger-retire-first-class-cricket
He joins the thin ranks of those players with outstanding FC records who for reasons of timing, injury, or bad luck never quite cracked a Test place. Amongst fairly 'recent' batsmen he, Jamie Cox, Jamie Siddons, Sam Trimble, Mark Cosgrove, and Mick Taylor would probably head that (Dubber-free) list.

I would place di Venuto, Dene Hills, and Dave Hussey on a rank just below those named above.

Why are Victoria getting out to the very ordinary SOK?
Are they playing for some spin?

I'm pretty sure Diva is on the top 10 for most FC runs without playing a test.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
Regarding Klinger, I think people forget just how disappointing he was in the early part of his career. He made his Sheffield Shield debut in 1999/2000 & by the end of the 2007/08 season his career record stood at 35 matches, 1436 runs @ 26.59. Then he left Victoria & went to South Australia where he had two outstanding seasons followed by a poor season, then good one & then another poor one. By this time he was in his early thirties & I don't think the selectors can be totally blamed for having a lack of confidence in him. I blame Paul Reiffel for declaring when he was 99 not out in his second season.
This is his Sheffield Shield career.
This is his Sheffield Shield career.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2017-18
If SOK can get 8 wickets, the pitch must be absolute rubbish.
This game should have been played at the MCG & resulting in a draw.
