Oh! Brilliant! Little girl!
I think you should write for some comedy show. Or you could start a one man stand up show and go the Edinburgh festival. Or you could just go around hospitals and tell jokes to cheer up the terminally ill.
On the other hand you could just drown yourself and put yourself out of your own misery.

I am taking a leaf out of the Indian captain's book and saying we didn't lose. The umpires won it for India. Please note this is not up for debate.Anyone watching this game knows the Aussies were dudded.I was a bit disappointed that Ponting didn't mention that his team was the only one playing in the spirit of the game but I understand he is a gracious captain. That trophy will stay in the cupboard umpire or not.

Pah... and the Aussies accuse others of sooking? Sour grapes, toys out of the pram? yes, yes.

Massive NSR methinks. Noelene isn't the most subtle person around but surely that post was in jest?

Well played India. Not so hard without Bucknor in their pocket, are they?

Feels fine. You can't win them all and whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger. I expect a much better performance at Adelaide.

That useless little dubber boy dropping the simplest of slips catches off Dravid didn't help, either.skully wrote:In the end, our nose in the air attitude that we were gonna smash India on the lightning Perth deck was what cost us. Getting used to it now.

Never does. You just kind of get used to the taste, learn to live with it.
Re: How's that defeat tasting, Aussies?
Don't worry, some of us still have an after-taste lingering from the mid 80's.

Re: How's that defeat tasting, Aussies?
If the taste of losing is something that you've grown up with then it's not so bad. Winning and achieving is the thing that tastes odd, not necessarily bad, in fact it is rather good, I'm just not sure whether I should trust it.
Thankfully it didn't taste like that for very long, so I hadn't time to become accustomed to it.
I actually feel far more comfortable with the taste of mediocrity and failure. At least you know where you are with that, and the only way to go is up.
I was always suspicious when we started doing well. Felt sinister.

Bit defeatist.
I call that "constructive pessimism" ... expect the worst, and you can't be disappointed. Look at the gutter, and over time it becomes comfortable to sleep there.
Trouble is, it's a depressive habit. And usually self-perpetuating, if you actually have any participation. (Admittedly not the case with virtual fans.)
I think a more open mind and balanced orientation - let's see - is always preferable, even psychologically speaking, and even for distant supporters.
But I guess vilk was just joking..

I was, though there was a hint of truth in my words. England losing just seems like the natural way, I'm actually desensitised to it.
I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer when we were winning though.
