Former Australian tennis prodigy Todd Reid is dead at the age of 34, seemingly by his own hand. RIP.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXVIII/The Death Thread 2018
RIP Tony Joe White, who wrote the classic Rainy Night in Georgia and sang and wrote Polk Salad Annie ('the gators got yer Granny, chomp chomp'), had a heart attack about a week ago, aged 75.
Apparently* his real name (coincidentally) was Anthony Joseph White.

Sylvia was an early draft pick, a talent, but ultimately a bit of a bad boy. He was evidently getting his life back on track though.

I can't find anything on the wires about this. She did have a kidney transplant a few years back.

Yeah....there are reports but no confirmation, a lot of 'reportedly' and 'allegedly' (no 'apparently', but).
An observation with absolutely no implied moral judgement: She denied the kidney transplant for a while afterwards, so seems to prefer keeping her health issues private.

Angry Anderson's son has died after an assault near Freshwater Beach.

Yeah, very nasty. The grub was high on ice and stomped poor Liam's skull in.

Vale Ted Mack - a genuine politician for the people (and my local member for a number of years).
He resigned from two Parliaments days before his entitlement to a generous lifetime pension kicked in.

Aye. Decent person. RIP.
Angry Anderson's claims to celebrity are remote. His son's claims are more so. Ice ain't no good. I bet he was using too.

Hmmm....something tells me a civilisation that's survived two world wars, the GFC, and two years of Pres Trump, and may yet survive the reformation of the Spice Girls, would have found some way to muddle through without that last contribution of Horrie's.

People that stupid shouldn't be allowed into parliament
Entitlements are there for a reason
Rejecting them is as bad as abusing them

Ted was very anti-perk, and he reckoned the parliamentary pension was the biggest perk of all.
I don't reckon he was short of a quid.

Sisto Malaspina
murdered Melbourne icon
Sisto ran the front bar at Pellegrinis in Bourke St for donkeys years. He found it impossible to retire. The staff at the joint have mostly worked there for yonks.
At various times I had a coffee every morning before work (always pretty good) sometimes returning at lunch for a basic lasagna or minestrone.
The place was (is I guess still) always crowded and good humoured. Sisto presided over all the happy chaos as a larger than life character making sure everyone got their order and dispensing cheek faster than the coffee.
I am one of many thousands who are mourning this terrible loss.

Aye. I see that stupid fukc the premier of Victoria is now echoing that other stupid fukc the Mayor of London in saying that people should accept terrorism as a part of life. What an insipid low life qunt he is.

We seem to live fine with domestic violence which kills far more people.

Andrews knew Sisto and is mourning him. I didn't get the accepting it as part of life vibes, but when you get random attacks like this, even while the trial for another Bourke Street madman is going on, it's hard to guarantee that it won't happen again.
