Never heard it called that, but enough snake-beating goes on on this forum to last anybody a lifetime.

Ponting hasn't yet ruled Tait out of Adelaide test.

This would be last test in Australia for quite a few Indian players, like Tendulkar, Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly and VVS atleast.

This must be added incentive for them to do well in this test.

Seems Karthik's been drafted in Jaffer's place in the XII. Hope they play 5 bowlers then.

Yep, he'd be a walking wicket in any case and Bhajji can score as many runs as he can, if not more.

Looking increasingly like Pathan will open to make a spot for Bhajji. So India will be:

Sehwag
Pathan
Dravid
SRT
Gangles
VVS
Dhoni
Kumble
Bhajji
RPS
Sharma

Looks a good side.

Australia will play Boof x 11. Unbeatable on the Adelaide Oval.

More than that, getting him in with very little practice in these wickets, when most of the others have failed is impractical.

And VVS should come at 3.

We seem to agree on very similar sides doremi, with Dravid and VVS swapped.

If Spud is picked, then Punter must give him the new ball.

If Tait does play and gets the new ball then Pathan might not look quite as bad as an opener.

Pretty weak batting order. India NEVER wins tests with 5 bowlers and they never all fire together. When we play 5 bowlers, we do end up missing the services of our 6th batsman. Pathan as an opener doesn't make sense. Too stupid a gamble. People who say Karthick can't be expected to get going straight away in Aus without a test ahead forget he did precisely that in SA successfully and scored most of his runs as opener. So lets not sacrifice a batter. Should a couple of main batters go off form or have a bad day, suddenly the whole batting will be under tremendous pressure. Experimenting in such a crucial test is not advisable. It will only lead to more confusion.

Hey JKL,

I got a free 5 pound bet at betfair. I just tried to put a fiver on India winning at 9.4. Stupid thing wouldn't let me so I called them and they said I need to use the Australian wallet to bet on the match and apparently the Tasmanian betting people have much stricter procedures for verification, so I'd have to send documents and forms off to get verified.

What a load of poo. Have you had that problem? I can't be arsed with that. Just put a fiver on Barca beating Villareal 3-1 in the cup tomorrow instead.

Why don't Australia play both Hogg AND Tait? Drop Jaques, move Hussey up to opener, with Gilchrist at 6 and Hogg at 7.

Hussey
Hayden
Ponting(c)
Clarke
Symonds
Gilchrist+
Hogg
Lee
Johnson
Clark

Why would Aus re-shuffle and disrupt their entire side just to fit in two crap players like Hogg and Tait?

Mudge having a posse of rent boy disciples is rather disturbing. Still, as long as it keeps the wierdos away from playgrounds...
