Re: Rugby League 2019
Well, in the end, the better team probably lost.
The dodgy "6 again" (which turned out to be wrong and was shown to be corrected) was the difference.

Re: Rugby League 2019
Understandably. Very poor combined refereeing in that situation.
Sutton shouldn't have signalled until he got the call from the linesman and the other ref, both who had better (and correct) views.
Raiders then would've known it was 6th tackle and put up a kick rather than taking the tackle.

Re: Rugby League 2019
....Then Wighton might have kicked the ball on tackle Zero ...common sense would have been give the Raiders one more tackle ...not sure many sporting codes employ common sense in rule making
AFL could have had a ball up (Umpire Carey marking the ball in Dockers vs Saints game)
Cricket could have let the call stand ...(Voges getting bowled on a no ball called that replays showed wasn't)

Re: Rugby League 2019
The state leagues final earlier on had a few horrors to, but nothing to match the kickoff out on the full and getting caught with the ball on the sixth tackle.
Was disappointed in Ricky, he must be trying to apply to become a halfway decent human.

Newtown couldn't have got 2 better bounces to come back to win.

Re: Rugby League 2019
First thing I was taught in rugger, never let it bounce. Know it might have been unavoidable, but it happened during the big one too.
But yeah a great game despite losing money on it. SEQ team so I wasn't personally invested.

Perhaps a new rule needs to be introduced. In the event of an immediately recognised 6th tackle refereeing error, play should be stopped, the situation cleared with the captains and an extra tackle awarded to the attacking side.
I think the rule on contact with ref and others (trainers) also needs to be looked at, in the wake of the Easts trainer being hit on the Roosters 6th tackle after a rebound from a Keary kick. It was ridiculous that the Roosters got the scrum feed and another 6 tackles.

Yep. In AFL that’s a 50m free kick.

Re: Rugby League 2019
We should run an annual comp:
1 On the First NRL player to be arrested in the post season.
2 How many weeks from the GF before said offence.
I think Duigan (spelling?) was the first done this year and on serious charges.

OK. Don't get me wrong I want him to blow the lot and enjoy himself, better than donating it to the ACL et all. They don't need the money in the upcoming fight, they've got god and the fruitcakes in the coalition on their side.
