Mike Willesee is dead.

He was a respected journalist, had some noteworthy achievements.

By any measure an Aussie journalism titan.

He was also a pretty serious horse owner I think.

However, he was most famous for having the world's largest philtrum.

Edited both Melbourne morning dailys, wrote numerous books about sport and military history. Following less than a week after Mike Willesee; a bad period for Australian journalism legends.

His brother Norman is a former Victorian wicketkeeper.
