Well done to Shrapnel. I see the Puddle failure is being persisted with.

It's supposedly a COVID20 WC year
Puddle and NoShow are least useless in that format

I was wondering about that, esp in a contract year where not much will be played. Something to do with the settlement agreement with the players?

Good reason for a reduced list. A test squad from which you can produce the bulk of a ODI team and then a couple of park cricketers. Might be able to keep it to around twenty.

Plenty of 2nd rate/inconsistent players in the list.
Aus cricket is not so strong atm. Seems the days of players like Boof and Mike Hussey bashing down the doors for a Test spot against an established XI are long gone.

Fast bowling is strong. The rest are being carried by an ATG batsman and a guy in ATG form but still young.

Re: CA anounces contract list for 2020-21
Any Squad containing gcspoc and Mitch the Mere is seriously deficient. Monty is technically deficient and Wade is at best a fill in option as a specialist bat.
Agree the strength is in the bowling.
The squad with Fink and NoShow is geared to white ball cricket.
None of those who lost contracts have cause for complaint. Uber Koala has been a great servant of Oz cricket. I hope he hangs around in State and then Grade cricket for many years.
Ditto Siddle who I expect to play cricket until his body finally gives out when he is a rising 60 yo trundling in for a second xi country team.
None of the others who lost contracts have cause for complaint. Stoinis has not recovered his consistency since his family reasons move back to Perth. Harris has failed to convert talent into big scores. Sneaky Pete may be the smartest State skipper but is too old to correct his technical deficiencies.
Of the up and comers who missed out, Cam Green is the most unlucky. Still he is just a kid and his time will come.

He'd probably have made it but for last season's injury.
