I'm surprised this is proceeding given rampant Covid in South Africa.

Lankans chose to bat and are 3-81.

Fine recovery by Dhananjaya and Chandimal... South Africa look so shit.

Quite a bit of uneven bounce already.

Whoa SL seems to be doing well.  Could this be the Test that we should be following instead of our shitty maxed up teams?

Looks a good recovery by the Lankans after being 3-54.

SA's attack without Rabada looks pretty lame. Apparently Sipamla was selected ahead of somebody already in the squad because they wanted three black Africans. They are weak with all the recent retirements but selecting on skin colour doesn't help them. Lankans do pretty well in their conditions given how poorly they perform in oz.

I mention in passing that these two teams have a player named Dickwella and de Kock.

Faf has a footballer's rig.

This one's rattling along.

At Stumps on Day 2 SAf are 4-317 after SL made 396.

So that's 713 in 2 days. Average of 357 each day (at 4 runs per over). That's humming for Test Cricket.

Faf out for 199. Big lead for SA.

More than Aus is likely to make today.

Hope Sri Lanka have a team for the next match. 2 injuries and Chandimal was limping yesterday.

Different looking SA line-up but they cantered to victory. Rabada back for next test so one of Sipamla or Norkia will probably make way unless they go for an all pace attack in Joburg.

Yeah, Kumar particularly. In terms of consistency.... Mathews was already injured pre tour and now Chandimal as well. May have to hope for stoke Perera magic again.

At least they can hope to have Lakmal back for the second test
