More seriously, either Saha, Agarwal or Shaw comes in for the injured Vihari if he’s out. If Jadeja can’t play, they bring in their reserve pace man (who was OK in the ODIs). Pant was never injured so replacing him is not an issue.

Side strain for Bumrah which is a bummer for India; they are really running out of troops.

That really is unfortunate for India.

On the wicket most likely to help their pacers, they will have a very inexperienced pace attack. Saini and Siraj both appear very talented, but the short turnaround after Sydney might expose still further injuries there, and with Jadeja crocked and Ashwin in less than perfect health they really will struggle to put a good attack together. The batting is obviously OK.

Not just the fourth test, Vihari may be out of the next series. The man has no luck, he could have been upping that 32 aggregate in home conditions.
