Australia v West Indies, 2nd Test (D/N), Brisbane, 25-29 January, 2024
So a comprehensive win for Aus in T1.
Can the Ganjas regroup? It would seem a daunting task ahead against Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins with the pink ball under lights.

It should be a good time to rest one of the fast bowlers ...but I doubt they'll want to given their records with a pink ball and a brittle batting line up they will be bowling to .

Neser Boland and Morris have all been rested by CA at various times during the Shield season ....and none 'needed' a rest at the time

"Resting" is Tim Howard bullshit that should be left up to the player themselves.

The resting is complete and utter rubbish. Boland is a natural workhorse player whose game relies on having a solid base of work.
Haze is another who needs work though I think it is because he is not a runner and is a massive kfc fan.
On retirement I expect Haze will become somewhat huge. This will last til his mid 40s when sense will prevail and he’ll pick up a Fat Fergie lite n easy or Jenny Craig type sponsorship.

Weather could be very dodgy for the Test (as per horrie's alarm) with the cyclone in FNQ likely to send significant weather to SE Qld.

Anyone interested in car crash interviews should listen to CA CEO Nick Hockley explaining not mentioning Australia Day on Australia Day at the cricket to Ben FordhamÂ

I don't believe either of the noise sources keeping this banal handbag-swinging session in the news constitutes anything close to a 'majority'. 95 per cent plus of the population couldn't give a flying fart whether they can buy a plastic flip-flop with an Australian flag on it at their local Woolworths or not, and the other 5per cent minus can go to Coles.

20% chance of arvo showers on Friday and the weekend looks dire.
With weather predictions becoming more accurate, Wouldn’t it be smart to start with 8 hours play on Day 1?
This Test should have been at Bellerive and the 1st Test v Pakistan should have been in Brisbane.
I cannot imagine the broadcasters would be happy.
So if Head misses, move Smith to 5 and open with Renshaw?

Head is now testing negative but Green and McDonald have tested positive.
None are apparently* experiencing symptoms.
