Re: Celebrity Death List MMXXII/The Death Thread 2022
Former AFL player Harley Balic has died at the age of 25.
Balic, who played four senior games at Fremantle before joining Melbourne in 2018, died on Sunday morning at Highett.
He died by his own hand and apparently didn't recover from sharing a place with Harley Bennell.

Multiple murderer, Robert Durst, who gave himself away when he didn't realise a microphone was on ("I killed them all") during a documentary about him was being made, dies in prison.
Rot in hell, you grub.
Perhaps an easy one missed by us all. He was pretty sickly when sentenced last year.

Nevererdovim either....you'd certainly have your work cut out convincing me I missed anything.
A bit unnervingly, Harley Belic is the fifth Freo player to pass away - this is a 27-year-old club whose oldest ever player will turn 55 this year acc to AustralianFootball.com - and the third by his own hand.
Those numbers stick out like a sore thumb next to all the other late-C20 formed clubs. The Crows for example still have a full list to choose from, and the Eagles and Port have only lost one player each. Didn't have time to check all 12 of the old Victorian clubs, but off the top of my head only three players I can name - Shane Tuck, Jeff Fehring (the St Kilda bloke who goaled from behind the Moorabbin centre circle), and Rhett Baynes of Carlton - took their own life.

This century Len Thompson also died by his own hand, though it wasn't reported that way.

dhurrkay and sylvia died in car accidents
Leach had cancer
Yarran was a troubled soul when given a lifeline by freo
Balic was traded back to Melb with homesickness
not sure playing for freo caused any of the deaths ...barracking for Freo on the other hand ....

It was rubbish then and the sad fact that he has died doesn’t change that.

Wasn't suggesting you do.
You didn't like it, millions did (including me) but IYHO is was a poor album. Lots hold a differing opinion to you.

Re: Celebrity Death List MMXXII/The Death Thread 2022
RIP Aftab Baloch
I remember reading about his innings of 428 in a First Class match in 1973/74 & thinking he would be given an extended run in the Pakistan side but when he was recalled, he only played one match to go with another one some years earlier. So he ended up with 2 tests & 97 runs @ 48.50. I guess Pakistan had a fairly settled batting lineup at the time.
