lardbucket wrote:Really? Why would he want to leave QLD and come to Tas, where he may not get picked? He’d have more oppportunities in South Australia, I’d have thought.
based on Manenti's batting stats, maybe he should be up the order more and that would open up the specialist spinner role?
I guess it depends how much spin Tassie are relying on Webster (and Freeman?) to deliver.

They’ve invested a lot in Freeman. Webster can still bowl containing spin from a great height. I suspect Kuhnemann will be competing with Freeman, whose batting is far superior.

Surely Kuhnemann would be better off going to Dubberland ...they are playing Chris Green FFS in Shield games

Last round of matches starts today. Something to follow after the Test fizzles out.

Vics need to win outright, so need to push with the bat without being reckless once it's our turn.

Goodwin really impressed me….
Fair effort in filthy heat to get WA out. Boland was masterful, O’Neill useful Murph handy.

Runs also to the Hardie boy. Unforch the in-form Madders already out in Vic reply.
Jayden Goodwin was born in 2001, no birthplace given but from memory his Dad was still in the Zimbo Test team. What is his national affiliation?

Good knock from McSweeney, who has had a disappointing season… some solace I guess.
meanwhile twin turkeys, Boofling and Beserker fail and therefore put in primo applications to emigrate to Pomgolia to play BazBall.

Only Webster has scored more runs in this season's Shield. Bancroft is in 3rd position.

Lehmann jr must be on his last chance. McGhurka is stamping himself as an ODI specialist.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2023-2024
SA, WA, and the weather on top respectively in the three matches started earlier today.
Tas will need to bat very well from 3-27 - as well as Australia did from 4-34 - to score some points in this match. They can’t afford to be smashed in this match.

Reckon Vic are slightly ahead of WA, but losing Maddo evened it up.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2023-2024
Callum Vidler has decent pace for an 18yo. With a few more years under his belt & some work on his runup, he could be very slick. He was a member of Australia's victorious Under 19 World Cup team along with Sam Konstas who is his opponent today.

looks like it
they’ve led the comp all year, and have baulked at the last hurdle.
Addition: Wade out on the 4th ball of the last over of the day. Chasing 323 with 9 wickets now in hand

Re: Sheffield Shield 2023-2024
Nine completed innings in three matches, only 2 totals over 250, the two innings in progress unlikely to get there either on current trends.
And that, kiddies, is why we're stuck with Seasick and Kwaja and Dunder and Mishmash, and why we have not much option except hope like hell Marnus's 15 minutes aren't up - the replacements just aint there
