Has this been the most boring ODI series ever?
Perhaps I shouldn't ask things like that. They often tempt the fates to send along something really spectacular and memorable, like a Boeing 747 crashing into the Wanderers with the match in progress, or - even worse - a player calling another a monkey.

Wouldn't the corresponding Pakistan/Zim series qualify as the most boring. Pakistan has rested its best attack yet you know before each game that the Zimbos have no hope of winning. The Windies have teased a couple of times but fallen short with Duminy and Pollock being the stars to date. It also offers the exotic opening pair of Chattergoon and Parchment.

Windies struggling to find 11 players for this match:
Chatergoon: calf strain
Samuels: Chronic Knee problem
Shiv: Various
Gayle: Hamstring, broken thumb
Sarwan: Slowly recovering from broken ankle.
Edwards: Tight Hamstring
Taylor: Various shoulder problems
The xi they come out with will be very interesting.

I know this tour's taken its toll but I doubt Gayle would be considered, ditto Sarwan because they're home in the Caribbean. It seems to me that teams touring us and SA find they encounter injury problems. Maybe the combination of hot weather and hard surfaces is taxing.

Yeah, it's never hot in Pakistan or India or the Windies, and their fields are soft and lush and green.

No need to be sarcastic there. I realise it's hot and humid on the sub-continent and hot in the Caribbean. Opposition bowlers have always complained about the hard surfaces in oz, and SA has similar conditions. They find it hard on their feet and body. The pitches and outfields have a different texture on the sub-continent. If a pitch in oz for example started off as bare and brown as many of those in Pakistan and India do, it would crack up within a couple of days. Yet in Pakistan there are plenty of occasions in which the pitch has played just as well at the end as at the beginning in a veritable runfest.

what a travesty that Ramdin decision was. A full toss almost at his chin not given as a no-ball. And then a run out

Wow.. I have just seen the worst piece of umpiring in a long long time.
Kallis bowled a beamer that was hitting Ramdin just below his shoulder, Ramdin tried to hit it and balooned it in the air to Boucher.
None of the South Africans even appealed, yet Harper and Jerling gave it out. It was at a crucial time as well with Ramdin being one of the few lower order hitters left in our line-up.
Truly disgraceful, that must have repercussions surely as they have basically handed SA a reasonable total to chase.

Get that Rawl Lewis- has absolutely violated Steyn in the last few overs.
Test bolwing average has dropped to just 114 now as well.

Langeveldt's put on a couple of kgs.
And de Villiers claims a 'disputed' catch.

One of the keys was that the Saffies didn't appeal really and the way they were looking at the umpires, they knew it was a no-ball. how the umpires got it wrong I don't know, it wasn't even marginal.
Still, Jerling and Harper, that probably explains it all.
