2012: End of the world or a new beginning ?
Mayan Calendar
Friday, February 01, 2008 | 8:46 AM
KFSN -- The Mayan Calendar is believed to cover 25 thousand years of life on earth.
The trouble is, the last day on this calendar is December 21st, 2012.
Some figure that means the end is near...or if not the end, at least, something big. But then there are those who say its all mumbo jumbo...and this old calendar is nothing but an interesting artifact.
The Maya were obsessed

Well, coincidentally Dello and I are planning to take over the world in that year..
Don't tell anyone, but he is Hitler.

Oi, f*ck off. I was trying to recruit him into the Fourth Reich. We're going to raise some f*cking hell. Eat all the bananas and oranges you can, because in 4 years, you'll be f*cked.

They're going to hook him up to a lie detector which is also connected to the inlet. Every time he talks bullshit more gas gets pumped in.

I reckon he'll have to read my post.
And probably this one as well.
Honestly, has there ever been a more benighted lack of intellect on any forum ever?

"I reckon he'll have to read my post.

Or at least get somebody to read them to him.

WE might need to ask Dello if he has a crayon font.
Or, we just cut and paste it. That seems to be the extent of Bucketbrain's creative talent.

Re: 2012: End of the world or a new beginning ?
Does anyone remember the Argentinean goalkeeper Carlos Roa, who was some religious spastic or other whose particular brand of hysterical attention-seekers were convinced the world would end in 2000?
He retired from football especially to prepare for the "end of days" - only to sheepishly begin looking for a new club at the beginning of the 2000/2001 football season with the world pretty much still intact.

Re: 2012: End of the world or a new beginning ?
I've noticed a lot of hype recently about Doomsday (allegedly gonna happen on Dec 21, 2012).
My immediate thought was "this is right up Farky's alley". And lo and behold, a search brings up this thread.
FFS, what a load of tosh. But I wonder who will hold the Ashes for all eternity if the world did come to an end. The return bout after Ashes 09 is summer 10/11. Plenty of incentive to win that series.

Wasn't it the '02/03 Ashes that was won by Australia by Dec 1st.

Indeed it was, qmy. Aus won the 3rd Test in Perth (started on 29 Nov 2002) inside 3 days by an innings to wrap up Ashes 02-03.Bradman wrote:Wasn't it the '02/03 Ashes that was won by Australia by Dec 1st.
Professional team effort too. No tons although we only batted once (only one player failed to make double figures - Pidg 8*) and no bowler took more than 3 wickets in an innings for Aus.

Re: 2012: End of the world or a new beginning ?
Yeah just checked that. The wondered if it was the highest team score without a century or a duck.
It's about 20th on the without a century list.
Stilll goes to show if the Mayans are onto something we should be fine to go into hereafter with the trophy, providing the NSP has been arsed by then.

Re: 2012: End of the world or a new beginning ?
F*ck me guys, some of you are downright, well, cruel in reacting to bucky. Seriously.
Here's a better* answer: I dunno if it is the end of the world or a new beginning, bucks, because I'll still be getting laid in 2012 and you'll still be not.
*: Well admittedly a $hithole answer but better than wot you guys put out.
