Does Trev get his morbid wish of Gilly finishing his stellar career on the sidelines with a broken thumb? Thoughts?

Hehehe. Gilly was standing up over the stumps to Gump and took a leg side delivery on the point of his thumb. Tawny Greeg claims he lip-read that Gilly said "It's broken". I reckon I lip-read "Not sure, hope it's not broken". He continued on, like the Aussie legend that he is, to take 3 more catches and a stumping, including a magnificent diving one-hander to seal the match and the bonus point. What a farkin deadset legend of the game.

Aye and he called. Gave a bit of a "meh" reaction when the wicket was broken at the non-striker's end, then stormed off when he saw the big screen. I think he was filthy with himself.

FWIW, it looked quite swollen to me in the quick glance we got when Healy was interviewing him - and trying to slap it - after the match.

Gump was on Inside BJ tonight and said it was all Gilly's fault. Gilly noted that MS was standing out of his crease so stood up to Gump and called for the leg side stumping play. Gump obliged with a leg-side ball but Gilly mis-gloved it, almost smashing his thumb. Gump said he called Gilly next morning, and Gilly confirmed he didn't think it was busted, just bruised and sore. The Legend will be fine.
