Can't fault Nayar for taking it though. Played a fantastic knock and must have regretted taking the single as soon as he got to the other end. If the idiot had just kept it simple on the free-hit and taken a single, instead of trying to hit a six, which he has probably done less than 5 times in his entire life, Mumbai could have won this. But there has to be something wrong in a team where Nehra comes at 9.

Goni (Gony?) was impressive again. This guy will be playing for India by the end of the year.

haydos was motm...i think 50% of motm's have been aussies to date, add another 3 os winners. India to date has 12.5% of the motm awards (viru) despite having the bulk of the players - was this as unexpected as the turgidator's tears??

The funniest thing about Bhajji as the captain is that he doesn't know the names of a few of his teammates. When asked what changes he had made in the team during the toss, he said that he replaced the pacer with an off-spinner.

Who would have decided that in the event of Tendulkar's injury, Harbhajan should be the captain ahead of the likes of Pollock and Jayasuriya? The coach? Team owners?

think i read somewhere that pollock pushed for an indian skipper.

most indian players have been clueless captains. dravid, laxman, harbhajan,...

Yes the Indian captains haven't been great. Laxman was certainly outled by Warne. Singh seemed to stuff up his bowling rotations.
