CA Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said it was encouraging to see new Roy Morgan research showing 47% of Australians watch cricket on TV.

Roy Morgan figures show that 41% watch AFL football; 33% watch tennis; 25% watch NRL; 18% watch golf; 10% watch Rugby Union and 8% watch A-League.

These respondents, from a sample of about 50,000 Australians interviewed by Roy Morgan Research, said they watched “always” or “occasionally”.

It's pretty hard to watch womens cricket on tv considering that there is absolutely no live coverage of it. Not that anyone would watch it anyway. Why would people want to watch the women playing a sport that the guys play with so much more strength, athleticism, and power? And it's not like too many of the womens cricketers are hot, either. And lets be honest- any sport that is played by women and popular on tv is only popular because there's some hotties playing it.

Sorry to sound all sexist, but it's the truth.
