I reckon Topbottom is definitely up there at the moment. Steyn, Clark, Asif, Lee and Topbottom are probably the best quicks around.

"Quick" is another word for fast bowler. A fast bowler is someone who bowls the ball fast. Topbottom bowls at around 84-5mph. This is fast bowling. Therefore Topbottom is a quick.

But JKL, since about 2000 the term "quick" seems to have been stretched to include chaps like Clark and SiBo, wouldn't you say?

Quick is a slang term used by journos to cover all non-spin, non-medium pace bowlers. A quick can either be a fast or fast-medium bowler. As there are very few 90mph plus bowlers in the game (or in the history of the game) it is perfectly acceptable to call mid 80s fast.

Therefore Topbottom is a quick.
