It's rainy and grey in England and it's supposed to be summer. Makes you want to kill yourself really.

It's hot and humid and exhausting in Mumbai and it's still summer not yet ended. Makes me want to have some of that English rain and grey over here.....

Re: Bloody Hell.....
I thought you'd worked your way to the upper eschelons of Indian middle management, Vikas. Surely this is the epitome of the mad hubbub of the Indian middle classes. Boredom, how can this be so?Batman wrote:.....I'm bored. This looks like one dull boring day!
Well, there's always FlamingBails. But I see you've already played that card.

Re: Bloody Hell.....
I am suffering from middle age stagnation and professional suffocation. Well the work I am doing is boring, have been on this project 4 months with 4 more to go and well truth is I want to change my line of work which may take some time. In the meanwhile I am trying to bag some voiceover work in TV stations and sending my CDs across and want to learn Maya animation. Too much freelancing after office hours is also saturating me, but I can't refuse money. I want to take a break but am unable to, to keep food on the table and nothing is happening yet. It's waiting and waiting at the moment for something to give and well.....
I am just plain bored!

Good luck in your quest. I hope the malaise breaks soon.Batman wrote:I am suffering from middle age stagnation and professional suffocation. Re: Bloody Hell.....
Get a cricket ball, get down to the nets & practise the art of the leg-spinner. No-one could be bored as they toss up some leggies, toppies & googlies. Maybe even the occasional slider, zooter or guzunder.
..... and if you're feeling a bit hostile, let fly with some bouncers.

Re: Bloody Hell.....
When I tried leg-spin in nets for the first time, I hit the ceiling, two fielders and the batsman on his head. One of the funniest days, and all because the coach wanted to make me a leggie because I wasn't good with pace bowling.

Re: Bloody Hell.....
funnily enough i started with leg-spinners, they just came out naturally. till the age of 12 i was extremely envious of the guys who mastered the difficult art of off-spin bowling. then in my mid-teens i grew 9 inches in a year and all i wanted to do was bowl like waqar younis. didnt quite work out that way

You had nothing, zip, until then? Or is more like a long OETS now?
Leg-spin comes naturally to me too, and I have tried and tried more to bowl just one ripping off-spinner but failed.

I try bowling with any amount of pace and I end up bowling over the head and wide by a mile.
I can only bowl military medium to slow with any amount of control.....

Re: Bloody Hell.....
I bowled possibly the best leg-break ever in the nets today. drifted in a touch towards middle, spun sharply and kicked viciously.
Unfortunately, I was bowling at my brother, who is far too feeble a batsman to even get close to it (although admittedly, he is slightly better than me. I have no shots, he has the one where he backs away and flails), and all he could say about it, in amongst my gleeful laughter at bowling such a peach, was that it was 'alright'.
Alright? It was bloody poetry.
If only I could do it six times in a row.

Re: Bloody Hell.....
I used to bowl great legspin except that they hardly turned.
Had great line and length except that I had only one line and one length.
So I took to keeping wickets with a slightly lower degree of incompetence.
Good times.

My leggies turned some distance. Unfortunately it was the other way. I bowl a mean googly, but can't land it in the pitch when it's orthodox leg-break.

I can bowl anything, me. My favourites are my cunning slower balls, which I craftily use as my stock delivery.

I can bowl a bit of leg spin. Except I can only bowl googlies.
My coach said it was 'shit'.
