Bloody hell, more delusions about cricket taking off in USA
And then, having created an interest in the game, the next step is to push for a fully professional USA team, by tapping into an estimated USA fanbase of more than 15 million people.
"That fanbase is more than in Australia or in the UK. It's a good number," Lockerbie told Cricinfo. "Our primary aim is to satisfy the hunger of those who crave the sport, which in turn will help fuel interest. Americans may find cricket amusing at first, but then it's really exciting. Americans love sport, and they know of cricket.
Read all about it here.
Not that there's anything really new in there. The same pipe dreams as if produced by factory automatons.

It's all crap. I remember reading articles in the WSC days, with Packer saying the one-day game was the perfect way to introduce the game to the sports-loving American public...

You can just imagine the crowds on a 5th day of a Test match in the US....
Chances are it won't even get to that, and even less that a Test Match involving the USA *shudder* would ever last that long.

Or the Kiwis.
Tho Seppos do 'get' long games...they love golf for example and in baseball they play about a gizzillion games a season.
Trouble is that Seppo cricket is run by a bunch of subis.

Americans do like long games that require blokes to wear helmets and other protection. They call it 'football'
