Trent Bridge Test Roll Call
Who's going then?
I'm there on the Friday, Sunday and (if it gets that far) Monday.
Steady away on the bevvies on Friday as I'm playing for my club on Saturday, but Sunday could be a messy one.

I make it that in the officially recognised sequence of Anderson bowling performances, the 'really sh*t Jimmykins' is now due.
Bob + Beer + 'Really Sh*t Jimmykins' = Guaranteed abuse.
You may have to wait for the Sunday session when I let the brake off on the beer drinking for the full effect however . . .
. . . should be worth waiting for nevertheless, I'm pretty sure Ramps will still be waking up in a cold sweat after the fearful diatribe we unleashed on him as he trudged off following his p*ss poor charge at the goading Warne towards the close of play at TB in 2001.
I just hope for Peter Moores sake that he doesn't have the misfortune of strolling casually past me at any point over the coming few days . . .

Can't wait to see how the new stand looks on TV, it's replacing that old doubled tiered mess isn't it?

Are you a member at Trent Bridge, Bob? Does that include international matches? How much is it?
I'm thinking about asking for Derbyshire membership for my birthday.

I have Glos membership. Cost me £54 (Student rate) and they make me pay extra for the ODI (Another £54 FFS) the T20s (Extra £39 for the 5 games) and the FPT QF (£9)
It's an expensive business being a cricket fan

Yep - I was rather fond of that 'old double tiered mess' but I guess it had to go.
The new stand looks pretty impressive - at first glance anyway.
I do have some reservations - it runs in a straight line from the corner of the pavilion to the corner of the William Clarke stand. This has the duel effect of losing the traditional 'pleasant curve' around the boundary, and (naturally) of losing I would 'guess-timate' about 5-10 yards of the outfield at its most severe.
These aerial shots give you some idea of the chunk it has taken out of the outfield.
As it was before: -
And once construction was under way: -
There's some pictures of the development here.

Yes - a club member, as I play cricket for an affiliated club.
Gives you a £50 discount this season on the original price of £115, which gives you access to all the County games apart from those played on a Saturday, as you're supposed to be playing - which I always am anyway.
International matches are extra, though I would have got a discount if I'd sorted my club membership out first, which I didn't.

Re: Trent Bridge Test Roll Call
Aye - that looks a bit weird indeed.
Although it must be yonks since Trent Bridge had it's ropes right the way back to the boundary, I certainly can't remember it. There always seemed to be a load of grass behind the rope.
Are there plans to bring that smaller stand (to the right of it in those pics) in better alignment with it?
also notice they've filled in the other stand opposite which always looked funny on TV - the 'brick wall' bit !

Re: Trent Bridge Test Roll Call
Cheers Nevil.
£54 would be pretty awesome. I thought it'd be about £250-£300. I wouldn't really be that interested in the ODIs and 20/20s so the first class student membership sounds like the one for me. Quality.
It seems a bit good to be true though. It's about £11 for a day at the county ground so I can't understand how it can only be £54 for 80 days.
I wouldn't mind life membership but I'm not sure where I'll be living.

County cricket has always been reasonable. The last time I was a member at Essex was early 1990's - must've been £65 for the season (it's £130 now)
Derbys is £140 according to this
https://kiosk4.ts.com/k?DCCC&membership
Although you're 20 aren't you Lara? In which case it's £120

Yes, the William Clarke (the smaller stand) is the next on the hit list to be flattened, and that area sorted once they have tidied up the front of the pavilion, which has built up all sorts of crap over the original structure over the years for additional press boxes, offices, etc.
Once all of that function has been moved into the new facilities at the end of the new stand, beneath and behind the new permanent screen, then the pavilion will be restored to its original glory.
I'm guessing therefore that the William Clarke area will be developed in the winter of 2009/2010 at the earliest, though I'm not sure on that.

No, not particularly.
Pretty friendly whenever I've been in there, and a nicer place to get a pint.
I don't think anything too raucous would go down very well, but it has the tone of a place where you just wouldn't be anyway.

You're welcome to join me, Bob. Show you what a real county is about and whatnot.
I'd probably have to get you thoroughly drunk to prevent you from crying with envy at future England stalwarts Rikki Clarke and Jon Clare batting together.
