I hope our amount of Tests increases. No wonder I am starved of Test cricket. I suppose it just makes all Australian Tests much better though.

The only thing interesting thing about those stats are that England's are incremental.

England 31 Tests, 20 wins, 7 draws, 4 losses.
Australia 21 Tests, 10 wins, 3 draws, 8 losses.

Why do Australia play so few Tests? Don't they like cricket anymore?

There doesn't seem to have been a huge amount of Test cricket played this year compared to past years. I guess the World Cup takes a reasonable chunk out of the year in terms of scheduling major series, perhaps there's a few more before the end of the year but I know England don't play again this calendar year.

31 Tests in under 2 1/2 years doesn't seem like idleness to me! Laughing

It's Australia's 21 not England's 31 that was being commented on.

17 Tests have been played worldwide so far this year - 8 of them involving England. Scheduled for the rest of this year are SL-Aus (3), Zim-Pak (1), SA-Aus (2), Zim-NZ (1), Aus-NZ (2), SA-SL (2 before year end), and Aus-Ind (1 before year end). So there will be 29 played in 2011 in total, average of just under 6 per Test nation - I'd guess that's fairly low by recent standards.

On the second point - yep, in part at least the "pressure" of One-Dayers and the IPL.

On the first point - by Dello yes indeed beamer, but not on the face of it by you. If you read yours, it looks like a general comment. ~ Hence my own reply, that England have pretty much been steaming along this year and of late, even if (clearly) others haven't.
