Just confirmed on the news that the India tour will go ahead and we WILL play a test in the capital. Additionally Symonds has started training again with the Bulls but no time frame has been put on his return, if he returns at all (in the words of team officials) to the Aussie team.

Just on the Spiv News. "Roy says sorry, wants to repent and start playing cricket again immediately."

Hopefully he's pulled his head in.

Well, he made all the right noises...

- accepted that the hard line the leadership team took was correct
- getting professional help to be a better person
- loves his cricket and wants the Baggy Green back
- I live in the moment but need to think more about what I do and the consequences
- At 33 I have lots of international cricket left in me
- the long seasons can take their toll - I was really enjoying the down time (i.e. "WTF are we wasting our leisure time playing the Bangers").

And he looked relaxed and happy. Started training with the Bulls today.

Fingers crossed.

He didn't sound terribly contrite to me. I wonder if the ultimatum regarding not retiring by the IPL boss carried some considerable weight. He said that he was enjoying being home and hated the idea of packing his bags for yet another tour. Sounds as if IPL dollars and plenty of down time would have sat well with him.

No, because he hasn't been chosen in the tour squad. NSP wants him to go back and play for Qld and earn his spot back.

He's realised that leaving Aus cricket to be a conditioning coach for the Broncos would leave him hanging around with a bigger bunch of dickheads than he expected...

Enjoying the down time indeed. I was right this guy wanted to be an IPL journeyman and nothing else. No wonder kiddie arranged his boot up the backside.

There were few conflicting news in media yesterday about Australia tour to india:

Security could still scupper Australia tour of India: Ponting

Ponting had doubts over the tour about 20 hours back. But today's cricinfo reports that he is comfortable touring India.

What is the concrete news?

The concrete news is that Roy won't tour. Dunno about the rest of the Aussie team.

My money would be on the tour going ahead.
