Re: Watson dropped for Adelaide
Symonds had clearly established himself as a quality test player for a couple of years.
And I think it's safe to say that he's had more than his fair share of favourable umpiring decisions as well......

In Bucknor's absence that credential needs to be revisited.

Predictable and unfunny response from a Subi.

Interesting that Punter in his post-match interview on the ground had already predicted that Siddle would come into the line-up (perhaps ahead of Clark) before the team was even announced.

It's would be interesting to know when Ponting formally became a selector. All evidence to date suggests that he is crap at it.
Seriously, the couldn't possibly play Siddle over Clark.

JGK wrote:WTF has Siddle done to be labelled the No 4 pace bowler in the country? He appears to have been outbowled by a few contemporaries in the current shield match.
Watto's bowling is unlikely to be effective in Adelaide and his batting is rubbish so fair enough that he got dropped. Berry is wrong BTW, Symonds had clearly established himself as a quality test player for a couple of years.
Actually Watson is a bloody good bat.

In FC and LOIs he is a competent attacking bat.
In tests he seems to bottle it and turns into a scratchy crab

Yep and the sooner he realises it the better,
He has been out three times to a forward defensive push. That's not Watson. He needs a couple of ODI's.

I still haven't worked out how averaging under 25 with the bat and over 30 with the ball could be considered a breakthrough series.

If he's talking about dropping someone who isn't performing then I have no problem with the idea of giving someone else a go.G.Wood wrote:"I think you're better off giving them an opportunity and seeing how they go and see what they can do"

One can only hope this is the headline for the forthcoming Test series against the West Indies.
