Saw the first epsiode. It gets more and more ridiculous each season. The first season was the only one that was half decent. The second was crap and the third looks exciting but stupid.

Apparently Michael is in a prison that has no guards and no rules. The place is run by the inmates because they're all too dangerous to control.

Bingo.

He's about to be transferred to a safer place but apparently "the company" want him to break out someone in there for them. If he doesn't, LJ and that Tancredi woman die.

Actually, he has to help another guy get out, because associates of this guy have taken Lincoln and Sarah hostage and will kill them if Michael doesnt help him break out.

I'm with you LLL.

I'm not a big fan of American TV but those who turn their noses up at the quality HBO stuff are mentalists...

Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, The West Wing - all good stuff

I've never seen Deadwood or the West Wing. Any good? What's Deadwood about?

Taken from IMDB...

The town of Deadwood, South Dakota in the weeks following the Custer
massacre is a lawless sinkhole of crime and corruption. Into this
uncivilized outpost ride a disillusioned and bitter ex-lawman, Wild
Bill Hickok, and Seth Bullock, a man hoping to find a new start for
himself. Both men find themselves quickly on opposite sides of the
legal and moral fence from Al Swearengen, saloon owner, hotel operator,
and incipient boss of Deadwood. The lives of these three intertwine
with many others, the high-minded and the low-lifes who populate
Deadwood in 1876.

If you like Sopranos, its like that but in the Wild West of late 1800's

The West Wing is a US political drama that follows the rise of a new president and his staff.

probably boring as hell to some, but extremely well written

The Sopranos? - Would be OK if they'd just done one series, but it's gone on forever. Might get a boxed set out of Blockbuster and make the effort to watch through it one wet weekend (or 3).

The Wire? - uh?

Curb your enthusiasm? - not a drama it's a comedy and yes it rocks the sock. Smile

I think what I said applies to 95% of the stuff we import from Amorica: 24, Lost, Prison Break, Deadwood, West Wing ... they all bore the kecks off me.

You're missing out the very best series - Dexter (second season airs on Sunday in the US). Brilliant show about a serial killing 'good guy'.

As for Prison Break, season two was a shambles (no surprise, given that the storyline was only ever supposed to cover one whole season).

However, I'm pleased to report that the opening two episodes of season 3 have been rather good. Silly, of course, but that's always been part of the charm.

Oh, and the second season of Heroes started this week in America.

Wasn't very good. Although I thought the whole thing started to drag from about the halfway point of the first season, so perhaps it's just not my cup of tea.

yeah, seen it advertised. Will be the next series to watch I think

Never got the time to catch series week by week so prefer to watch it all in 1 or 2 days off DVD or via dodgy dubious back of the lorry links.
