Possible Idea...
Has the PCB ever thought about arranging for Pakistan to actually Tour somewhere? I mean why hang around and wait for the problems to solve themselves (when they clearly won't in the forseeable future), why don't they solve all their worries and JUST tour for a couple of years. I mean when was the last time they went to New Zealand, Australia, West Indies or Sri Lanka...If Tests are out of the Question (FFS) just arrange some random JAMODI series in England or South Africa or wherever and that way atleast they'll be getting some international cricket under their belts.
If there is a reason why they aren't touring, please someone correct me!

Good point, ya Welsh tit.
The last time they toured outside the Subi was in January 2007.

Thanks Zimmy. A Test tour of West Indies followed by a Trip to Australia, ending in a Tri-Series against Aus, Pakistan and New Zealand could take up a good part of the year.

We could lend Pakistan Darwin and Cairns to play some "home" tests

Re: Possible Idea...
they are suppose to tour SL in the summer of 2009.
I think ICC should have stepped in and tried to arrange a few matches to "save" a test nation. They can still do it if the IND series doesn't happen but then again the other teams seem really busy plus they still have to sneak in 2 IPL tournaments which will take around 2 months.

Re: Possible Idea...
they should certainly tour AUS at this time next year.
By merely getting on the field Pakistan will WIN even if they LOSE the 3 match series by 4 nil.

another thing....
next time instead of spending a mountain of cash for security for the players they should just offer the money TO the players and "bank" on KP to convince the ones that are fearful.

I've been saying for 6 years that they should play their "home" games in England. The ECB has proposed this to the PCB as well. FFS, Britain has a massive expat Pakistani population. Probably the biggest in the world. Provided the tickets aren't too expensive, they could probably fill the likes of Old Trafford and Headingley with Pakistani supporters alone.

Well just switch the schedule ffs! It's not like Pak can play anywhere else in the world from June til August. You could even have a situation where England and Pakistan are both playing their "home" summers in England at the same time against different teams. What a feast of cricket that would be.

that will happen if the problems in Pakistan are guaranteed to persist for a very long time and teams make up their minds to NOT tour PAK for another 7 or 8 years.
We don't want the Pakistani grounds to be deserted for a decade.

So it's better to have no cricket at all, anywhere? FFS, Pakistan cricket is a joke.PlanetPakistan wrote:Henry wrote:

Re: Possible Idea...
Pakistan organising some 'home' games in Britain next summer is win-win whichever way you look at it, and the ECB has publicly stated it is keen to accomodate them.
In no particular order, some of the benefits would be: -
1.) Pakistan get to play some much needed cricket.
2.) Their vast and fervent support in this country gets to see them play some cricket.
3.) The rest of the cricketing community in this country gets the opportunity to see more live international cricket.
4.) Pakistan and cricket supporters in general round the world get to see them play on TV.
5.) It would raise revenue for the PCB.
6.) It would raise revenue for the ECB.
7.) It helps to keep the ICC's future tours program intact.
8.) In these difficult times around the world it would help to reflect both Pakistan and UK relations, and those of the western world and the muslim nation in general in a more positive, cohesive and harmonious light, both from a cricketing point of view and from a wider socio-political point of view.
The cynic in me suspects that it is for the very reason of that last point, that it will never be allowed to happen.

Re: Possible Idea...
tests in england would also offer more prime-time viewing for the subcon. they could generate quite a bit by just selling the pakistan and india tv rights
but it also reduces the home season of pak to 2-3 months and would involve large logistical problems. maybe they can even host their matches in bangladesh. more home advantage and easier for pakistanis to make the trip to dhaka than london. having matches in india would probably not be possible politically
