Aggers: dumb as a monkey

It is easy to assume that someone with an accent like that of Agnew is intelligent and well read but every now and then the bubble is burst.

He told a gag today, instead of commentating on the cricket:

"Descartes said I think therefore I am, Sartre said I am therefore I think, and Frank Sinatra said Do be do be do."

You are as dumb as a monkey, Mr Agnew. The correct joke is:

Socrates said, "To be is to do". Sartre said, "To do is to be". Sinatra said, "Do be do be do".

Agnew's version makes no sense.

He should try talking about the cricket once in a while instead of wasting our time with this rubbish.

Agnew described Brian Charles Lara as a 'forgettable' batsman the other day, who 'only played 1 or 2 memorable innings'.

Anyone who can say that and keep a straight face does not deserve the public's attention.

Whether the "Monkey" jibe by OP was true or not, or whether it was hearsay, this needs to be taken into consideration.

On the last TMS podcast. I exaggerated slgihtly, what he actually said was the strange thing about Lara is that compared with other great batsman, apart from his 2 world record innings, nothing was memorable. Lara was not flamboyant, and nothing sticks in his memory apart from BCL's high back lift!!
