West Indies v England, 5th Test
... is something to look forward to.
Will Shah hold his place, or will Bell be relieved of his sandcastle-constructing responsibilities and asked to labour on the final road of this series?
Will the anaemic English attack be given a much-needed (if addled) dose of Aranesp?
Will a cricketer named Lendl make his debut? Will he be nicknamed 'Ivan' on this forum?
Will Sidebottom get back to being Sidebottom, instead of 'topbottom'?
Does Ambrose deserve to hold his place, or will Prior return?
Which team will be first to make 1000 runs in an innings in Test cricket? Is Lara's individual record safe?

I just thought you were doing it on purpose.
TBH, I prefer the other one. No use of topbottom.

Thought a man who trawls back pages would be more skilled as such
Re: West Indies v England, 5th Test
Must have been just one page back. I usually just go back to the half-way point of the forum to see what we were talking about back then.

Re: West Indies v England, 5th Test
Go on - give lardy a roll of the dice this time !!
Anticipated England XI for T n T ...
Straussey
Le Chef
KP nutcase
Collywobbles
BeeBopara
Priority (for the Missus)
Rash(id)ness
Broadly
Khan-I-Bowl please?
Harmless
Jimmikins
4 quicks with "variety" and 2 unorthodox spinners.
All the top six batsmen have scored well this tour, so there should be no worries about batting KP at 3 and Prior at 6.
Sorry Ace ....
PS - ANYONE SPOT THE COCK-UP ??
NO BLEEDIN' SWANNIE IN THAT LINE UP!!

Nah, soz, I won't have Shah being chucked. He's gotten out (at least) twice trying to give the innings some momentum.

I'd forgotten Khan was even there.

really WANT to agree ... but ... he's the only one run-less and if we're gonna have 4 quicks and 2 tweakers to ensure getting 20 wickets (ha ha ha ) then summat has to give...
So who goes?
BeeBops?
(PS can't believe I'm culling a Middlesex lad after all this time supporting the bugger!!)

TBH, yeah Bops goes. He's not a number three in my opinion. Were Bell to have had this run, it would unquestionably have been Bell kept in. IMO, after the trouble we've had there since Butcher, it's about time some non-needle-dick was given a run.

HMMM ... OKAY, JIMMIKINS OUT THEN - 3 QUICKS, 2 SPINNERS.
Oh to hell with it, this isn't the official thread anyway!!
