(a bit like Richard Hutton in that regard).
You mean both their Dad's were apparently doing it for the greater good and glory of old England whilst pocketing a fortune at the same time.

What? Look at the figures, they must be out there. Yeah, we held the land but few swore feilty to Edouarde d'Angleterre. The ones who did usually double-crossed him anyway. It was a shite campaign, bore out of the greed of Edward III, nevertheless it was a remarkable achievement given the disproportionate amount of proper soldiers in the ranks.

You guys ever thought about more modern battles, Villiers-Bretonneux springs to mind. Or Hamel as the practice run.
Haig: How many months do you need.
Monash: Well I was thinking about knocking it over tomorrow afternoon.

No. For the simple reason we got onto alcohol, I don't drink beer, tried to come up with some stupid Anglo/Alcohol reference so I came up with some off-the-cuff remark which has been historically analysed by a bunch of keenos.

It makes me insane. Last time I had some, I got kicked out by the wife, half in a suit, half in casuals, with no shoes on and no trousers. I proceeded to walk over the rough park, offered out anyone who was there, then walked into my local, the whole bar turned around and I offered all of them out too. They still served me though.

I would've done, the bird started nagging though. I took exception and we had a bit of a barn-owl. Was her place at the time, so off I went.

Jeez, that's the last time I let my meagre amount of patriotism get the better of me.
No, Strongbow the aristo. He was some baron or other. The Irish still mutter his name. Not as much as Cromwell though.
And Strongbow did at least marry a colleen, upper class though she may have been, so he had saving graces.

Darn tooting. That lovely english expression "rule of thumb" is there for a reason.

She was out of line. It's about one of a clutch of arguments we've had in our whole time together. I went to a raceday, won a stack of money, spent some of it and came home even more pissed. We weren't living together at the time and she has no right whinging about what I'd spent. It was my money. Bald-faced cheek, if you ask me. Furthermore, for the one being sober, she went psycho. Rightfully, she apologised.
Re: Happy St George's Day
So I hope the bald-faced cheeks followed .... :ninja:

Aye - was just a throwaway line about the 'quality' of Castle lager really.
Enjoy.
Got a couple of these lined up for later.
