FMD horrie & anyone else this applies to. Have a feckin look at Hauritz's numbers in this series and then have a look at who he dismissed and at what point in matches. Hauritz has paid his way - it's just the feckin emotionally restricted that can't see and/or fail to acknowledge it.

Where's that 'neg rep' feature when it's really needed?

For Australia if they lose, half the team.
For England if they lose, anyone who doesn't have an MBE (or whatever the frig it was), a CC or an FEC.
If it's a draw, f*ck knows. England will probably have an open top bus parade to celebrate holding back the mighty Aussies.

Bell has already cemented his place for the SA tour. Did you not see that cracking 50 he made?

Good job that the SA attack isn't very penetrating, then.

Re: the oval - who will play their last test?
Rumours earlier in the summer suggest this could be Harmison's last appearance, if he plays that is.
Can't see any of the others being permanently discarded at this stage. Bell will certainly be back a few more times if dropped again, as will Panesar. Trott I suppose if he fails could end up as a one-Test wonder, there have been a few examples in the final match of the summer before, though I'd like to think he would get more of a shot at it than that.
I'd be surprised if Collingwood was discarded this soon, but when he does get dropped he probably won't be back, as England don't tend to recall players in their mid-30s very often. But as T20 captain and an automatic ODI choice he seems to still be central to the selectors' plans. As he should be, I don't know why his place is questioned every time he has a couple of bad games!

Flintoff, Harmison (if he plays), and Bell (barring a century).
Lee (if he plays).
Hussey, perhaps.
All the other Australians are secure barring injury, and the other English players have some sort of future.

Of the Aussies I reckon Hussey is most likely. Aust will want to get Phews back into the side asap and Hussey has somehow let Watto become more useful than him.

Something you'd have to work pretty hard at, obviously ... and no-one has ever questioned Paris' work ethic.

Paris has let himself be sawn off by the umpires on a couple of occasions ...and stuffed himself a couple of time by pretending the ball will bounce above stump height like it does at the WACA

I think the selectors give the likes of Hussey every chance to recover form because when they get to the mid-thirties stage they're likely to have a red line put through their name once they're discarded.
With Watson being a bit of a revelation as an opener and Hughes likely to be recalled with good domestic form, Katich might be the other one who has to watch his back.
