Violence at London soccer match
Investigations have begun into "large-scale trouble" at West Ham's Upton Park ground during a match against Millwall.
One man is in a stable condition after being stabbed in the chest and two others were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
story
Millwall have a bit of a reputation for being hooligans don't they?

I assume the fat bloke waving his shirt above his head at around the 51 sec mark in the video is Merlin.

Violence at a Millwall football match. Could almost count as nostalgia. It used to always be the last item on the news on a Saturday evening which meant that Dr Who was about to start..

Re: Violence at London soccer match
West Ham and Milwall have an ongoing vendetta between their supporters which stretches back over 30 years.
According to the sports pages today - the earliest known confrontation was in May '72 when the fans went to war i and out of the stadium during a testimonial match for harry Cripps, a Milwall legend who started life at West Ham.
Sept '76 - Milwall fan killed under a train after scuffles between supporters at new Cross station.
March '04 - Police horses used on-pitch at The Den to quell fighting after the Hammers lost to Milwall.
Milwall supporters are notorious as the worst in the country ... but it seems on this particular occasion, it was the Hammers fans who lost it...
Lock both sets of thugs behind electric fences and leave them to slaughter themselves to a grand finish IMO ... shame about the real fans and families who genuinely support the respective clubs.

Millwall was one Brentford fixture I always made sure I avoided.
I hope Tom didn't get caught up in it. He's a Hammer.

I saw Milwall at the Den once - was of my mates in London was a huge Milwall fan. The other fans like us Aussies because Tim Cahill was their star player.
"No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don't care
We are Milwall, super Milwall, we are Milwall, from the Den"

Everybody still 'wars'. Everybody. Sometimes you hear about it. Sometimes you don't.
Been to the Den and New Den quite a few times, it's OK on a whole. Apart from that song that JGK put up. Bunch of slackjaws, they get a lot of reflected glory from their rep - that wasn't substantiated by them, those blokes aren't even in the ground.

Note to self: Never go to a West Ham match. or any football match for that matter.
Actually, avoid any sports even altogether, just stay indoors.

Good to see the venerable traditions still being upheld, despite the ongoing commercialisation of the game.

Yeah, I agree. If knuckle-draggers want to trash other k-d's then fair play to them. I like my grill, vital organs and general health too much.
Intersex naked baked beans wrestling on the other hand....

Isle of Dogs way sounds like they're having a shit.
Brum sounds like they've had the corners of their mouth taped together and are jabbing themselves repeatedly near the ginch-hole with a stick.

Re: Violence at London soccer match
Welsh is best. We have cracking accents in some areas.
Travel into the Valleys and you may be disgusted at what you hear. I have an awesome Welsh accent, it's not queer or anything.
I f*cking rule.

Tony Lewis has a cracking accent. If a little on the camp side. Think Frank Spencer and Rob Brydon.
