from all accounts it seems the big 4 (ind, aus, eng, sa) have made two de-facto divisions in test cricket. they will play each other in 4-5 tests each series and the others only in 2 test series. everyone plays each other in the same number of series

could be dangerous for test cricket, considering its such a small community already

F*cking woeful IMO. Still, those other nations all seem to prefer OD cricket. Which, as you say, is pretty dangerous.

I'm all for it.

If they can't sustain attendences at Test Cricket even for the big 4 sides then play them in 2 test series.

It's got to be embarrasing for the likes of NZ when you stage a home test and the crowd is full of England fans.

Yeah, I suppose, though I think that forcing it on these less keen countries keeps them in touch whilst they're busy being shithouse. When they're better sides we see larger crowds. Who knows if those crowds would've been so large had this happened in the mode discussed above.
