The Warne-Muralitharan trophy?
Not a bad idea IMO
From link:
Sri Lanka has proposed to Australia to play for a series to be called the Warne-Murali trophy, a Sri Lanka Cricket official said yesterday.
He said the proposal has already being put forward to Cricket Australia which governs the sport in Australia and the response has been favourable.
“We have made a proposal (to play for a trophy in honour of Warne and Muralidharan) and the feed back has been very positive.
He could not say whether the current Sri Lanka tour of Australia will coincide with the Warne-Murali trophy but strongly hinted talks are underway to push ahead with the move.
“We are ready for it, but it will all depend on how interested and fast Cricket Australia is to make it happen on this tour”, he added.
I reckon is that they should wait until a player has retired before they name a trophy after them.
And they should probably name a trophy after a player who's played a lot of matches between the countries. Maybe Murali's name should be on the SL-Bangles trophy.

The Healy Ranatunga trophy with them jointly presenting it would keep the punters viewing.

Hooksey's only Test ton was in the first match between the two nations.
Might be nice to get him on it somehow.

Re: The Warne-Muralitharan trophy?
Seems a tad odd to name a trophy after someone who is still actively playing cricket at the highest level.
