Five Players to watch out for in 2010
1. Mohammad Aamer (Pakistan) Looks a great talent. Could cause havoc in England this summer.
2. Umar Akmal (Pakistan) Bit of a mad max with the bat, but if he can hone his incredible natural ability, anything is possible
3. Adrian Barath (West Indies) Showed his talent against Australia at Brisbane. He'll be hoping to kick on at test level in the next 12 months.
4. Dwayne Bravo (West Indies) I know he's been around for a while, but i've got a feeling that 2010 will be the year that Bravo finally reaches his full potential as a cricketer.
5. Usman Khawaja (Australia) A solid temperament, good technique, and unquenchable thirst for runs make this guy a star in waiting.

My 5....County and Test
1) James Harris (Glamorgan/England)....set to be the youngest county player ever, to take 100 wickets in CC in 2010. Let's hope he gets those valuable 13 wickets below 30. Also, a maiden century should be doable.
2) Thilan Thushara (Sri Lanka)....from what I saw of him against New Zealand in the last Test series, he looks very McGrath-esque and looks hungry for wickets. 28 at 34. A work in progress, but something to keep an eye on.
3) Graham Onions (England)....I will weep tears of joy when I see the Northern lad rip the heart of out every batting order in 2010. Big things for this lad just around the corner.
4) Adrian Barath (WI) What Trev said.
5) Mohammad Aamer (Pakistan)...what Trev said again, injury permitting.

Re: Five Players to watch out for in 2010
1) Ricky Ponting (Aus) An emerging young thinker, always two steps ahead of the opposition and three ahead of his own side.
2) Mohammed Sami (Pak) This young man has serious pace, if he grows he could become really tall.
3) Ian Bell (Eng) Will this be the year he finally starts converting those nuggety 30s into workmanlike 40s?
4) Floyd Reifer (WI) Dashing young batsman who is heading for great things in 2010.
5) Shoaib Akhtar (Pak) Liposuction and genital warts held him back in 2009. But this year it'll be full steam ahead for the Rawlpindi Express. And watch out ladies, for i hear he's quite a catch off the field too.

How do you think young Afridi will go at the U19 Gilly?

I reckon he'll do well. He should take confidence from his performances in the last four U19 Gilly's, experience is so vital in youth cricket.

Satirical points don't count ....
And it would be nice if Bunny could notch up a few more scalps, esp Smiffy!

Er 3 left actually Smerky.
Ponting's masterstroke in Sydney proves he's Brearley mark II. Just need Floyd Reifer to make a comeback now and i'm bang on track.
Re: Five Players to watch out for in 2010
Oh you. Well remembered. I thought that would slip you by.
Sami is most likely to live up to your list. Is Akhtar's career dead in the water?

Don't try and be stealing some of my glory Lara. I've backed Bell right from the start .... (of 2010)

Screw the lot of you. I was promoting Bell during the Ashes in 2009. The rest of you had no faith.

That Trev's a funny old fellow. Hates all things Aus yet has a real man-love thing going with Usman Khawaja. I guess it helps that Usman was born in Pakistan and is a Musi. Probably one of Trev's numerous black friends.

Mohammad Aamir- Banned for five years.
Umar Akmal- Underperformed (perhaps deliberately?) in 2010.
Adrian Barath- Got injured and hardly played.
Dwayne Bravo- Same as Barath. Hardly played for the Windies in 2010. Upstaged by his prodigiously gifted younger brother.
Usman Khawaja- Huzzah! Made his test debut and did ok. Got one right.

Actually, Mohammad Aamer was a really bright young thing. Mohammad Amir is a dirty rotten match fixer.
So I was basically right......
