Damn straight. What has happened to Goughy? Is he having a run in some mud-track lower Division Northern Football League or sumpent?

He could make the ball talk in the right conditions.

How do you know he's any good as a coach? He might be absolutely useless. This point is important, just because someone was a decent bowler doesn't mean they can coach. And just because someone wasn't a top ranked bowler doesn't mean they aren't a fantastic coach.

Saw him on a TV programme coaching young hopefuls.Very skilfully.

He even did a decent SLA delivery, to show how it's done. Better than Monty's of late.

Plus, he has the drive and the daft enthusiasm. And human knowledge.

Er......that's the justification? Coaching kids and coaching test players is not the same.

No, I was sort of vaguely aware young teenagers weren't Test players.

But nobody coaches Test bowlers, until they coach Test bowlers.

Saker has been assistant coach for the Viles for a couple of seasons. He doesn't seem to have done them (especially their bowlers) any harm
