I wouldn't aggravate them too much, if I were you
a) because they have a few more of those darn things under their permafrost and
b) they'll pay back all debts - principle and interest - in cod, apparently stolen from you in the first place.

IIRC they had a recent referendum wherein almost 70 pct of the population (including Byerrk) voted NOT to repay the outstanding debts due to their f**k-up's. Their Govt. is now deliberating the fall-out ...... (including that of the volcanic ash).

But nothings been sanctioned yet by the Icelandic government - because of the overwhelming majority in the referendum.
As a result, the start date for the "pay back" could take several years yet.
Another small factor - they've got nowt in their coffers to pay up anyway!

My sister XXXXX keeps me up to date from Reykjavik. The Icelandic view seems to be: "Apologies to rest of Europe. We were aiming for London (who suggested the good folk of Iceland should pay back the money lost by 50 bankers) but it is hard to be accurate when firing a volcano"

Some wag suggested they misunderstood the request for cash and sent ash instead.
