Looks like a pretty classy performance from Steyn and Morkel. How disappointing for the Windies to go from having the Saffies 5-107 to this debacle.
I feel very sorry for the hard core real cricket fans of the Windies.

Even they can't help the Windies now, Smerks.

I was originally going to say < 150. Barely 100 was not really in my scope.

And fair enough given that the pitch wasn't meant to assist the pacemen. I saw the highlights and the commentators were saying that the batting conditions were benign but Morkel got alarming lift from this placid strip. When Steyn bowls with pace and movement he troubles most batsmen.

Jackie out early lbw not playing a shot. Terrific decision by Rauf as Jackie did play one of his bullsh1t wave the bat around to pretend its a shot shots but Raug saw through it.

Um, when the ball hits the leg stump, it normally goes down as bowled.

SA seems a bit conservative with their approach here.

Steyn strikes again.
He and Morkel must be the best opening combo in tests these days.

South Africa triumph in a cake walk. Really poor from the West Indies, especially when they were seeking improvement after the dire JAMODI series.

Had a chuckle at Tony Cosier (or another commentator) suggesting the final margin of 163 runs was a fair indication of the difference between the two teams. He neglected to mention that the saffies only lost 14 wickets!

Re: 1st Test WI v SAf, Port of Spain, Jun 10-14, 2010
Another match, another batting catastrophe. I'm really not sure what the point of putting Nash at 3 was when he has played a massive part in our improved test match performances batting at 6 to sure up the lower order. If it isn't broken don't fix it!
Shillingford had an impressive debut, Benn looked very good with the ball and Gayle continued his test match renaisance with a sensible 2nd innings performance, but otherwise it was awful.
Barath and Roach will be fit for the next match thankfully and please Lord can Darren Bravo play? If only to give us long suffering Windies fans something to cheer about.
Also Taufel had an absolute shocker as 3rd umpire, which was extremely surprising. How on earth he gave Nash out in the first innings I shall never know and then he missed a pretty clear edge off Bravo.

Aye, a right ol' smashing by the Yarps. Well done them, and back to the drawing board for the Windies.WideWally wrote:Had a chuckle at Tony Cosier (or another commentator) suggesting the final margin of 163 runs was a fair indication of the difference between the two teams. Reminds me of Harbhajan. Right down to the slightly questionable action.....
