The Cook Cup
Aus v England tomorrow from Perth.
Injuries have lead to a bunch of generation next Wallabies getting a crack. I'm excited.

chuckle. The baby front row will each be dreaming about scoring tries from a pushover & then shucking some pommie clams after the game.

Parasite. Legend says that you'd spill the price of platinum tickets on a weekly basis.

Hard to justify a purpose built stadium for 8 games a year (plus whatever soccer has)
Subi serves it purpose ...and has a couple of big screens that help out on the angles

I guess. Hope you get the chance to be there - I reckon the long run into the Rugby Gilly starts tomorrow & it will be great to watch the kiddies under the kosh.

Re: The Cook Cup
Wallaby star Matt Giteau has been forced to pull out of the team to take on England at Subiaco on Saturday, after failing to recover from a well hidden hip complaint.
Giteau was previously named at inside centre and Australian officials today had to make the late change, with Berrick Barnes coming into the starting XV.
Barnes co-captained the Australian Barbarians during the 28-28 draw against England at ME Bank Stadium this week, scoring the penalty that drew the sides level but missing a kick after the siren that would have won the game.
Peter Hynes has taken Barnes's position on the Australian bench.
The Wallabies are due to have their final training run before the game this morning.
England were clearly planning for Giteau to play. Coach Martin Johnson planned for former New Zealand rugby league centre Shontayne Hape to take on Giteau at inside centre in his Test debut.
The 102-kilogram Hape would have significantly outweighed the elusive Giteau.
"Shontayne has a very good passing game and off-load game and is very direct and is a very dangerous attacker," Johnson said.
"I have been very impressed with him. He's one of those guys that seems to have a bit more time than most, he's very composed."
Lote Tuqiri (for Fiji and Australia), Brad Thorn, Henry Paul and Lesley Vainikolo are the only other code-crossers to have represented different nations.
Teams:
AUSTRALIA: James O’Connor, Digby Ioane, Rob Horne, Berrick Barnes, Drew Mitchell, Quade Cooper, Luke Burgess; Richard Brown, David Pocock, Rocky Elsom (captain), Nathan Sharpe, Dean Mumm, Salesi Ma’afu, Saia Faingaa, Ben Daley. Reserves: Huia Edmonds, James Slipper, Mark Chisholm, Matt Hodgson, Will Genia, Peter Hynes, Kurtley Beale.
ENGLAND: Ben Foden, Mark Cueto, Mike Tindall, Shontayne Hape, Chris Ashton, Toby Flood, Danny Care; Nick Easter, Lewis Moody (captain), Tom Croft, Tom Palmer, Simon Shaw, Dan Cole, Steve Thompson, Tim Payne. Reserves: George Chuter, David Wilson, Courtney Lawes, James Haskell, Ben Youngs, Jonny Wilkinson, Mathew Tait.
Referee: Nigel Owens (Wales)

Re: The Cook Cup
Oh dear.Referee: Nigel Owens (Wales)
Maybe the dodgy hip is the reason why Giteau has looked like he's been pulling a sled full of sumos all year. It would plain nuts to say that he's no loss but on recent form he's no loss. Again, good to see a fresh combination out against good opposition.

Mate, he's far from the worst, but I do miss Andre Watson & Paddy O'Brien.

Aslong as it's not because he's Welsh, then I suppose I can't argue with caliber.
I'm sure we'll get some sh!te Aussie ref for the NZ v Wales games...
