Heard Arjuna Ranatunga on Sydney radio this morning. He was actually quite reasonable saying that Marvan's comments were accurate, Australia's domination of Test cricket wasn't bad and it was up to other nations to respond, and that he wouldn't comment on who was better out of TGM and MM other than to say how lucky were all were to live in an era when they were both around.
By the end of the interview I was wondering if the guy on the other end of the line was actually someone else.

Well he's been involved in politics for a while now so he's learnt diplomacy.

Likely Sri Lankan XI-
Atapattu
Jayasuriya
Sangakkara
M.Jayawardene(c)
Silva
Vandort
P.Jayawardene+
Maharoof
Vaas
Malinga
Muralitharan
Sangakkara and Malinga make them look 10 times stronger.

Indeed. Malinga is a bit hit and miss but Canyouhearthedrums? was totally ineffectual.

Another option that Sri Lanka may consider is opening the batting with Atapattu and Vandort, with Jayasuriya batting down at 6. Not a bad move, imo. Jaya has done bugger all as a test match opener in his last 15 or so tests, and he'd be a good 'impact player' to have coming in at 6.

Sangakkara almost certain to start, but he wont keep wicket. Malinga likely to be recalled, but inexplicably, it's being mooted than Vaas, and not Fernando, will be the bowler to make way. Fernando was awful in Brisbane. At least Vaas was economical, and he can bat.

Maybe the Muppets should recall Roshan Mahanama (do doooo de doo doo...)
Vaas out but Drums stays in? Unless Vaas is injured, that just has to be crap. It's absolute madness.

He's on 99 tests as well.
Would be a pretty poor way to treat a bloke who has done so much for sl cricket.

Any predictions, pitch wise? Will Murali get something to work with this time?

I'd be having more flashbacks if I had the DVDs.
Still can't believe the Lankans are considering dropping Vaas.
