Who's the next most likely to make it. Jayasuriya must be close.

This list includes 20/20 matches but will give you an idea.
Jayasuriya and Kallis are the closest of the active players. Can't see the LB getting there at his current rate and MoYo is the only other with over 15,000 runs.

Re: The 20K int'l runs club
Jaya would make this list pretty soon.
Kallis too would get there before the end of next year.
Ganguly won't get there.
Yousuf would need atleast 2-3 years to reach there.
Gilly won't get there.

Who is next in line to join this list? Smith can't be far, surely?

Re: The 20K int'l runs club
Next best is Mahela with 18K-odd runs. Then Chanders, Yusuf and Sanga.
Smith is way down that list. Still about 7K runs to make. Should take at least 3-4 years to make that list.

Re: The 20K int'l runs club
PMSL. vilky had no farkin clue in his thread-bumping stupor.
How about an updated table, including averages, SG? I'm sure some of the 5 in the original table have probably moved on significantly since the first post (2 and a half years ago). Fence and Drunky have possibly moved up the table somewhat.
And no T20 sh!t to spoil the numbers, please.

Cheers TO.
Interesting that SRT's average has improved and Drunky's has declined.
And is Jaya's average correct? Quite a remarkably drop off from the others.

Re: The 20K int'l runs club
Jaya suffers due to his poor ODI average. And its not that his test average is that hot either like others on that list.
Still an achievement for someone who used to bat at so low down the order during first 5-6 years of his career.

jaya averages 40 in tests and less than 33 in odis, so he has comfortably the lowest average. a terrible start to his odi career didnt help. i guess his real value was in the speed of his scoring
since the date of the post srt averages 59 in tests and 54 in odis
ponting averages 44 in tests and 42 in odis

I assume you mean SRT averages 44 in ODIs and Ponting averages 54 in tests.

Any second Rob will tell us how shit he is.

Modi seemed to be very keen to draft him in the next IPL, and I don't think Lara seemed too averse to the idea. Shit, I think I'd orgasm if he does play and Mumbai buy him...
