the British are very much in the thick of things as far as it goes in 'creating' and 'developing' this problem. The British military remnants part of the p'stan army gathered intelligence and collaborated with their colleagues on the Indian side to help the 'tribals' mount a surprise attack.

It was in the interest of the Brits to create this problem and thereby cut off India's vital land link to central asia.

I am not saying the Indians of today are saints, but the brits were very much in the thick of this problem and helped create it in the first place by aiding formation of PoK (p'stan occupied Kashmir) and p'stan occupied northern areas.

Now giving the remaining habitants (predominantly muslims) right to self rule (since you talked about Sharia) is like spitting Kashmiri pandits in their mouth. Don't think that will ever be acceptable (or will be passed in Indian Parliament) to the centre.

The Kashmiris as it is with a lot of muslim populations across the World don't really know what they are chasing. An independent Kashmir even if allowed to remain that way by the bigger powers will go the way of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Probably more the way of Afghanistan and Pakistan since there is no oil in Kashmir.

Flood the state with millions of non Kashmiri Indians from UP, Punjab, Bihar etc and job done - the demographics have changed for good and the cries of independence will only come from a minority.

That is the difference between China and India. I would prefer that the problem is handled in the Indian way. Looks like some progress is being made as a result of the all party delegation.

This is one BJP agenda I agree with, along with uniform civil code. Why have 2 sets of rules for 2 sects especially when you call yourself secular?

Article 370 is disgrace. Why should Kashmiris enjoy special status when they care jack for rest of India? All they can do is to burn Indian flags and unfurl rogue one.

It was OK for Kashmiris to drive Kashmiri pandits out of their land but illegal for rest of Indians to buy land there. Why can't rest of Indians buy land in Kashmir?

Got to say, its pisspoor Indian policies which have allowed this problem to linger on for so long. Should've dealt with Kashmiris with iron hands (right from the beginning) like union govt. does with rest of Indians in matters like these.
