Hildick vows to stay in the job
http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/australia/national-chief-of-selectors-andrew-hilditch-intends-to-stay-on-in-the-job-despite-controversial-team-choices/story-fn2mcu3x-1225953550729
Hilditch's likely reappointment will draw criticism from many Australian cricket fans who have not understood plenty of perplexing selection decisions as Australia have plunged from top dogs to No. 5 in the world over the past few years. He came in the line of fire when he was photographed walking his dog on an Adelaide beach last year while Matthew Hayden was batting for his Test career at the SCG.

That seems to sum up Hilditch quite well. He seems to be very stubborn and unwilling to accept that a certain strategy isn't working. right back to his playing days when he simply refused/couldn't put away the hook and pull shot despite being dismissed by it constantly.

Oh no, we have understood them. They have been demonstrations of complete idiocy. FFS, this qunt has presided over the greatest decline in the standing of the Aus Test Cricket side in history. And we don't understand??Red wrote:http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/australia/national-chief-of-selectors-andrew-hilditch-intends-to-stay-on-in-the-job-despite-controversial-team-choices/story-fn2mcu3x-1225953550729

Re: Hildick vows to stay in the job
skulls, whilst not arguing that Hildich is a Grade A berk, and the rest of the NSP are hardly much better, I'd say the decline was almost inevitable, and that it wouldn't matter who was in charge.
As I said on a different thread, in 18 months you lost 3 batsmen and 3 bowlers with 22,000 odd runs and 1,500+ wickets between them.
Any side losing that kind of talent whether it be National, state/county, grade club or village green - will suffer.
Combine that with the fact that India have found a couple of bowlers to complement theit strong batting, SA found a star in Steyn who's won them several matches, and we seem to be moving upwards again, surely it's not a surprise to be hauled back "into the pack" ?

Re: Hildick vows to stay in the job
No argument, Growls. It's the "moving on from the cataclysm" that we are bitching about. The NSP has not acted promptly in their actions. They've flirted with the technically deficient Hughes, consistence-deficient North and performance-deficient Haurie. Even Midge and Cot can be questioned.Growler wrote:skulls, whilst not arguing that Hildich is a Grade A berk, and the rest of the NSP are hardly much better, I'd say the decline was almost inevitable, and that it wouldn't matter who was in charge.

We need a "bite the bullet" GSC approach to move forward with the future of Aus cricket.

Re: Hildick vows to stay in the job
The story says
But as long as Bob Simpson is alive, he's safe...
So he has to apply to keep the job. Hopefully they've included performance indicators as a determining factor on whether he'll get another go.the 54-year-old deadsh!t former Test batsman has revealed he will re-apply for a new contract to extend the term of the job he has had since Trevor Hohns quit in 2006.

heard simmos son in law on radio this am...gave the most unconvincing performance implying eg that Ranga McDonald could be the Oz form batsman but never get an Oz gig because of Watto and the need for team balance
